Do it all for the Cure
In the past month or so, I have done two 5K walks for the cure. One for Autism in San Clemete and one for Pancretic Cancer in Irvine. The one for Autism was HUGE. There were tons of booth, people, music etc all for one little girl name Hannah who was diagnosed with Autism and a very young age. This wasnt personal for me, but for a good cause & raised over 60,000.00!!! Then a friend of mine was going to walk in a 5K for someone her mom knew that had died of Pancretic cancer and one whom was still living who was there to do a walk with us. I also have not known anyone who has had Pancretic cancer but again why not do something to help, why not do something to help find a cure for Pancretic Cancer and this fundraiser raised 50,912. The way this foundation touched me was listening to the founder of the Pancretic Action Network speak. When her mom was diagnosed there was no foundation set up for this disease. She has dedicated her life to helping people and forming this network. CJ & I discussed doing the next 5 K together so when I got home I researched a foundation for Prostate Cancer which both my Grandpa's passed away from, and nothing, no events, etc. Im dissapointed. But, now I know to keep a look out for any type of Race for the Cure coming up and I will do whatever I can to help any of them I can. and maybe someday I will be able to come up with a foundation for Endometriosis and help women just like myself come up with a cure or donate money to help find one. Also for anyone who is reading this if you want to join me on any 5K walk let me know and I will contact you with the next one I come across. If you have one that is dear to you and I can help also let me know.
